Ash Wednesday and Lent Begins

I received this link in an email from the Archdiocese of New York’s young adult outreach coordinator, Patrick Langrell.  Archbishop Dolan is a pretty neat guy….
Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the penitential season of Lent.

Archbishop Dolan has posted a really great video clip on AOL today – check it out and spread it around!

And a wonderful homily today at St. Malachy’s…  Here’s an excerpt of today’s inspiring gospel:

1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’…

11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.”

Matthew 4:1-11

Have a wonderful Sunday,
